Borderville is a weekend of circus, performance and art to mark 35 years of the world- famous Flying Fruit Fly Circus and their home on the Border. Based at Circus HQ in Albury and Gateway Village in Wodonga, Borderville will celebrate the story of Australia’s most successful cultural community development project with exclusive shows and exhibitions.

Former Fruit Fly Tom Flanagan is one of Australia’s youngest leading acrobatic clowns, here performing his award-winning international hit in his hometown for the first time. KAPUT is the story of a clumsy ‘Mr. Fixit’ who, despite his best efforts to perform the simplest of tasks, only manages to fuel the catastrophe unfolding around him. Silent movie-esque slapstick, physical comedy at its best.

Three decades ago, Australian circus was changed forever when the Nanjing Acrobatic Troupe came to Albury to teach our young performers the art of Chinese circus. Now, Borderville welcomes five of Nanjing’s new generation of circus artists for an unmissable program of skill and acrobatics, joined on stage by performers from the Flying Fruit Fly Circus and the National Institute of Circus Arts.

High-level circus skills combine with elements of physical theatre to explore the capabilities and limitations of the human body in a world premiere performance by five extraordinary acrobats.
Heart-stopping teeterboard, handstands, group acrobatics and breathtaking aerial acts are showcased in this unique show by the most recent graduate artists of the Flying Fruit Fly Circus. An unforgettable opportunity to see Australia's most exciting emerging circus artists share their skills and creative vision for the first time.
This performance has been made be possible by the Australia Council JUMP mentoring program which aims to make a positive impact on the early stages of a creative practitioner’s career, while working with a chosen mentor - Ben Lewis - who helps them jump to the next level. The project has been supported by the Flying Fruit Fly Circus.
