JUNK tells the story of a modern-day boy finding himself in an abandoned junkyard inhabited by the spirits of children from the 1940’s. They teach him to play, trust, invent and take risks.
Our new show responds to the creative question “in our modern age, do we over supervise our children? Are we creating a generation denied the opportunity to take risks, find their boundaries and exercise their imagination?”
JUNK premiered at The Cube Wodonga in 2016 and enjoyed sell-out seasons at Sydney Opera House and Arts Centre Melbourne in 2017.
In 2018 we are excited to take this show to New Zealand and on a regional tour to NSW, Victoria and Canberra, with a cast on 17 amazing young artists from the Flying Fruit Fly Circus.
JUNK received a 2017 Sydney Theatre Award nomination for Best Production for Children.
