Shaping the future of circus

Flying Fruit Fly Circus, Albury NSW

In 2024 the Flying Fruit Fly Circus and Circa Contemporary Circus will join forces once again to present the National Training Project (NTP).

This is an opportunity to train with Australia’s finest circus artists and coaches. The NTP is a two-week winter training intensive for anyone with a serious thirst for progression and development in multiple circus disciplines. The program is open to anyone with existing skills, a passion for circus and lots of energy.

Alongside members of the Circa ensemble, our training team features some of Australia’s best circus artists and trainers. With a focus on creative process and high-level skills training, the National Training Project is designed specifically for anyone serious about a career in circus, and a chance for those already working in the industry to improve and refine their skills.

With an incredible lineup of instructors, the skills on offer in 2024 include:

  • Static Single & Double Trapeze
  • Cloudswing
  • Ensemble Work
  • Tramp and Tramp Wall
  • Teeterboard
  • Straps

Classes are determined by skill level and we ask that you self-assess based on our skill prerequisites. Take look at our skill prerequisites here to get a sense of where you’re at.

Registration Info

Week 1: 1 – 5 July
Week 2: 8 – 12 July

Cost: $1,300 for both weeks, $710 for one week only.
10% discount for participants from affiliate circus organisations!

Age: For participants aged 12 and over

Registrations for 2024 are now open and will close on 31 May or when places are full. Registration is not confirmed until full payment is complete.

Travel

Situated on the New South Wales and Victorian border, Albury Wodonga has a major regional airport and easy road and rail access from Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. V/Line and NSW TrainLink have a number of daily train and bus services connecting Albury with New South Wales and Victorian locations. For those flying, direct flights depart Melbourne and Sydney daily, with a limited direct service from Brisbane. Find out more here.
