We are thrilled to announce a bold new chapter in the Fruities’ story.

After a competitive public tender process led by the Victorian Government, Flying Fruit Fly Circus has been awarded the head tenancy of the historic 50 Perry Street building in Melbourne – the iconic Circus Oz space – to be reimagined as Circus Centre Melbourne.

With two purpose-built studios and multi-purpose spaces, Circus Centre Melbourne will become a vibrant hub for:

• Community programs and graduate opportunities

Positioned next to the Collingwood Yards arts precinct, the Centre secures this important site for our sector’s future and strengthens Victoria’s creative infrastructure.

Our heart remains in Albury-Wodonga, where our full-time school and public classes will continue. Circus Centre Melbourne allows us to amplify our national vision and extend opportunities for young artists and industry peers alike.

1. Is Flying Fruit Fly Circus relocating to Melbourne?

No. This is an exciting expansion, not a relocation. Our full-time school and classes in Albury-Wodonga will continue unchanged. Circus Centre Melbourne will operate as a complementary hub in the heart of Victoria’s arts community.

2. What will happen at Circus Centre Melbourne?

Circus Centre Melbourne will house two purpose-built studios and versatile spaces for:

• Residencies and rehearsals
• Professional training and development programs
• Youth and community classes and workshops
• Industry collaboration and innovation

It will also provide new graduate pathways and experiences for Fruit Fly students.

We’re creating an accessible and inclusive home for:
